Bring on First Day of Pupillage
Black and white scan copies and originals of the following:
1. NRIC (front and back)
2. Birth Certificate
3. LLB Certificate
4. CLP/UK Bar Certificate (if applicable)
5. Call to the Bar Certificate (if applicable)
Borang 1, Borang 2 and Afidavit
Note:
ü File these forms ASAP if u are sure u wanna stay in the firm no matter what, if u wanna see hows the teammates and firm first, then don’t file first, but honestly in a few days u cant see much, as the filing date of these forms marks the official commencement of your pupillage (9 months start counting from this filing date)
ü For overseas graduates, if the name on any of your certificates does not match the name on your NRIC, you will need to file Borang Akuan
1. Search your pupil master from the Malaysian Bar Legal Directory, Ctrl + P to print the website
2. Ask any lawyer in your law firm to certify the certify all exhibits for Afidavit.
3. Borang 1 is auto-generated by the e-filing system (“EFS”).
4. Download Borang 2 and Affidavit bagi Borang 1 here: Pupil’s Edition Guide to Filing Papers (Lexonaut)
5. Fill in Borang 2 and Afidavit using BLACK GEL PEN.
6. Bring the Affidavit bagi Borang 1 and all certified exhibits to the Commissioner for Oaths (COO) for affirmation
7. Log in to the EFS Portal and file Borang 1, Borang 2, and Affidavit
8. Click “Pemfailan Baharu” and fill in the required information.
9. For the signature on Borang 1, resize it to 470px (width) × 250px (height) using iLoveIMG Resize Tool
10. Pay the filing fee.
11. Download the sealed documents the next day. (sealed means the blue Petition Number on top of the first page of the doc)
12. serve them to 3 bodies:
a. Attorney General’s Chambers (“AGC”)
i. On AGC website, click “Penerimaan Masuk Sebagai PB/PC”.
ii. Register using your personal email, not work email.
iii. Upload sealed Borang 1, Borang 2, and Affidavit.
iv. Important: The portal interface can be a bit confusing and may appear as if your submission is complete before it actually is. Ensure you click Submit. Your upload is only successful once you receive an automated confirmation email immediately; without that email receipt, your submission did not go through.
v. That automatic email is their acknowledge of receipt, print that email for the next step.
b. Malaysian Bar
i. Email to: admissionstaff@malaysianbar.org.my
● Request an acknowledgement of receipt
c. Selangor Bar / KL Bar (depending on which court u wanna be called/ must be same throughout the entire filing)
● Selangor Bar: gunaalan@sgorbar.org
● KL Bar: petition@klbar.org.my
● Request an acknowledgement of receipt

Note: MUST be filed within 30 days after you filed Borang 1 & 2, and Afidavit
“Kindly be informed that pursuant to the amendments of Sections 15 and 36 of the Legal Profession Act 1976 with effect from 9 May 2025 (Click here to view the Amendment Act), kindly e-file the application under Section 36 (2) (a) and (b) [colloquially known as "Short Call" application] within thirty days from the commencement of the pupillage and serve it on the relevant bodies.”
● Fill in Borang 3, 4, and 5 accordingly using Pupils’ Edition – Guide to Filing Papers for Your Admission to the Bar (Part 2)
● Your pupil master signs Borang 4 and you sign Borang 5
● Upload the completed forms at EFS Portal
● Once processed, download all sealed documents and serve them to the following bodies:
1. Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC)
● Go to [https://eservices.agc.gov.my//]
● Click on Penerimaan Masuk Sebagai PB/PC
● Log in to the account you created when filing Borang 1 and 2
● Click on Permohonan Masuk PB/PC, then Semak Permohonan, then Lihat (icon documents)- beside Delete- a bin icon), click Tambah (pencil icon at the bottom right)
● Upload Borang 3, 4 and 5 accordingly, then click hantar
● An automatic reply will serve as the acknowledgement receipt
2. Malaysian Bar

● Fill in the details and amend as needed
● Print out the 3 acknowledgement replies (from AGC, Malaysian Bar, and KL/Selangor Bar)
● Bring both documents (Affidavit Penyampaian and Sijil Perakuan Ekshibit) along with the 3 printed acknowledgements to the COO for affirmation
● Upload the affirmed documents via EFS Portal
● Obtain Letters of No Objection (LNOs) from Malaysian Bar and KL/Selangor Bar and upload them accordingly under Surat Daripada Peguam
● On the day of your Short Call, log in to EFS Portal to check your Short Call status. (Refer to the document for step-by-step instructions.)
● If the application is approved, prepare and file it under Deraf Perintah
● Once the draft has been reviewed and approved by the court, amend the document according to the endorsed draft and file the final version of the order under Perintah Dalam Kamar
NB: If the application is not approved, note any missing documents, file them accordingly, and wait for the next Short Call date (usually stated on EFS)
● After receiving the sealed Perintah Dalam Kamar, served it to following bodies:

● Then prepare Afidavit Penyampaian and Sijil Perakuan Ekshibit Pupils’ Edition – Guide to Filing Papers for Your Admission to the Bar (Part 2)
● Bring both documents (Affidavit Penyampaian and Sijil Perakuan Ekshibit) along with the 3 printed acknowledgements to the COO for affirmation
● Upload the affirmed documents via EFS Portal
APPLYING FOR LAPORAN SULIT (“Confidential Report”)
NB: This process may be initiated as early as possible, as the State Bar will prepare and forward the report to the Malaysian Bar, which will then forward it to the Court.
Send an email to gunaalan@sgorbar.org together with the following documents:
● Completed Selangor Bar Introductory Form
● Sealed Short Call Order
● Legal Aid Completion Letter
● Certificate of Completion for the Ethics and Professional Standards Course
● Sealed Sijil Penampilan under the Legal Profession Act 1976
(refer below for steps on generating this via the EFS Portal)
Please ensure the following payments have been made:
Payable at Level 5, Malaysian Bar when you attend the Ethics Face-to-Face Course (Payment via QR code or cash)
Payable via the Malaysian Bar website under the Payments section: https://www.malaysianbar.org.my/
(Same method as payment for the Ethics Course)
● The RM30 Instrument Fee can only be paid after the RM200 Admission Fee has been made.
● You will be required to upload the RM200 receipt when requesting payment for the RM30 Instrument Fee.
● E-filed both receipts under “Resit (Lembaga Tatatertib & Majlis Peguam)”.
● Log in to EFS Portal
● Select Sijil Penampilan (The document will be auto-generated)
● Click Simpan, which will automatically download it. Then, review it before proceeding with payment
● Once the document has been sealed, download the sealed copy.
NB: The sealed Sijil Penampilan is required as one of the exhibits for Borang 6
3. Ensure the Laporan Sulit (“Confidential Report”) has already been uploaded on the EFS
Can download the form from Pupil’s Edition: Guide to Filing Papers for your Admission to the Bar under the Kuala Lumpur Jurisdiction [Part 3] [Updated] – The Lexonaut, and just add in this new paragraph: “Saya telah mendapatkan Perintah (Dalam Kamar) di bawah Seksyen 36(2)(a) dan (b) Akta Profesion Undang-Undang 1976 (Akta 166) dan Mahkamah Tinggi Malaya pada XXX. ● To be completed by 2 referees (NOT necessarily your pupillage referees)
● Date requirement: 1 day after the last day of pupillage
● Form can be downloaded from Pupil’s Edition: Guide to Filing Papers for your Admission to the Bar under the Kuala Lumpur Jurisdiction [Part 3] [Updated] – The Lexonaut
● Pupillage end date formula: End date = Start date – 1 + leave taken
● Signed by pupil master
● Date requirement: 1 day after the last day of pupillage
● Fill details accordingly
● E-file via EFS
● Generated in EFS
● Click “Notis Perbicaraan (BKKK)”– Papar– Check the details– Simpan
● Pay filing fee
WITHIN 7 DAYS OF E-FILING the above documents (Borang 6, Sijil Pengesahan Dokumen and Notis Perbicaraan), you are required to attend court and bring along the ORIGINAL COPIES OF ALL EXHIBITS (9 documents) REFERRED TO IN BORANG 6 for verification purposes.

1. Prepare your Long Call Speech
● Draft your speech. Once finalised, send it to your mover for review.
2. Prepare the Draft Perintah
● Download the Draft Perintah from: Pupil’s Edition: Guide to Filing Papers for your Admission to the Bar under the Kuala Lumpur Jurisdiction [Part 3] [Updated] – The Lexonaut
● Print out the Draft Perintah, as you will need to fill in the Court Officer’s name on the day of your Long Call. Print extra copies in case of errors
● Complete and file the Draft Perintah. Once the Draft Perintah has been approved by the Court, make the necessary amendments and file it under Perintah
Professional Ethics
● 3 elements:
● Stage 1: Multiple Choice Questions & Essays
● Stage 2: 5 essay questions, max 300-word answer
● Stage 3: In-Person Session.
● to avoid delays in your Call, Highly recommend to start early and finish your essay
● After submitting the written assessment, expect to wait at least 1 month for the results
● Approx. 1 month for essay results (ie whether u pass or not) and another 1 month required to be scheduled for the mandatory in-person session

● Fill in the forms accordingly (available online on the Malaysian Bar Council website) and submit a physical copy to their office as well
● You will receive a payment link; once payment is made, you will receive your login account details
● The account is valid for 9 months only
●
● Upon passing, you will be required to attend a mandatory in-person session. During this session, you will receive a certificate, which serves as proof that you have completed this component.
Applying for BM Exemption Cert
a. Check eligibility for exemption here: LPQB website
b. NB: If you are eligible for an exemption, it is recommended that you apply in advance, as the Certificate of Exemption typically takes 3 weeks to 1 month to be processed.
c. NB: If you are not eligible for an exemption, you can register for the exam here: LPQB website
If you are ELIGIBLE for an exemption:
● Photocopy your SPM/ other recognised certificate
● Bring both the original and the photocopy to the COO for certification
● Log in to the E-LPQB Portal
● Click “Daftar Pemohon” and fill in the required information
● Upload the certified photocopy of your SPM certificate/ other recognised certificate and make payment accordingly
● Choose your delivery option: If no delivery is selected, you will need to collect the certificate at the office. If delivery is selected, the certificate will be sent to the address provided
● To follow up on your application status, click “Semak Status Permohonan” on the E-LPQB Portal
